Winery Team
We have a difficult time distinguishing between work and play, business and pleasure, family and friends. The same is true with our job “titles.” In a family winery, everyone pitches in to get the job done. In a sense, we all share the same job: to make the best wine we possibly can make and get it out to the people who love it.
Gustavo Muro Assistant Wine Maker
Rather than come up with a job description for Gustavo, who is essentially a one-man cellar crew, we decided that it would be much simpler to outline the jobs that he is not responsible for. And, after much debate and discussion, we decided that Gustavo is definitely not responsible for loading paper in the printer. Everything else (pressing, racking, cleaning, testing, cleaning, sampling, cleaning, maintenance, cleaning, beer runs, and finally, cleaning) falls under his purview. Fortunately, Gustavo attacks this all with passion and gusto.
Susan Perry Office Manager
As exciting as the wine business can be, it remains, alas, a business. Susan oils this important part of the machinery, keeping us current on invoicing and payments and all of that fun stuff. So the people who supply us with grapes and barrels and fuel and equipment are happy to continue doing business with us. Which means that we can continue doing business with you. To top it off, she does all of this with a smile, and if that isn’t nice, then what is?
