Willamette Valley – Sedimentary Soils over Fractured Sandstone
The ancient marine sediments in the Shea Vineyard are amongst the oldest soils in the Willamette Valley. The underlying fractured sandstone assures excellent drainage, but the leaching also means generally lower fertility soils.
